FIRST ENTRIES - Discussion #1
What are your feelings after seeing pictures of Anne, her family, and her friends? How can you better relate to Anne after hearing her descriptions of her life?
that they were old, (black and white) and that they looked kind of poor if you would compare them with our society today. / she deals with problems everyday and we also can deal with some problems everyday in a child's life.
They looked old. I do agree with William. I have a lot of struggles in life too, even though they aren't as bad as Anne's. I somewhat understand how she feels.
I was surprized at the fact that they went on vacations tothe beach and how care free their lives were. I thought that people that time were the ones who were always had to be soooooo proper!
Anne and her family looked so normal! She seemed really nice and it was almost like she lived in present day. Her family looked just like a normal family, saddened with having to go through wat they did. Anne reminds me somewhat of myself, in the fact that she loved to write.
Anne and her family looked so normal! Even though they lived centuries ago, the seemed so present-day. Anne reminds me somewhat of myself in the fact that she loves to write.
Anne and her fam were living life just like us. It makes me wonder why in the world Hitler thought his actions concerning the Holocaust were right and justifiable. They are/were people too.
I think that the photos of Anne are as i exspected them to be. old, black & white, and like a familys porttraits would look like. i can better relate to Anne now because as a teenager she lived a hard life to LIVE. All teenagers go through hard times when they dont do theyre best on their work and at scholl and they feel like they have no one to go to. they get grounded and they think theyre life is over by not going to that party, but someone always loves them and a\Anne had people that loved her as well.
She seems a lot like the girls I know. She says "I expect you would be rather surprised that i would talk of boyfriends at my age." That's the only thing that isn't so much like the girls I know.Oh, and the video of her was cool!
Anne and her family and friends all looked happy despite the pictures being old and what they had to live through. I cant imagine living or surviving the Holocaust.
Anne and her family looked looked as if there was nothing wrong with them. They looked happy. I can relate to her better because she goes through like us teenagers.
Anne looked happy and like any other teenager our age. They reminded me of a ordinary family that is happy. Her ideas about the world were morally right, probably because she had to go through the Holocaust which effected her view in life
Anne was about my age when the holocaust happened. It is hard to relate to her life since I have never gone through anything like that. I cannot imagine being afraid in my own home. I have always felt safe with my family.
Geez is this due tommorow? Talk about procrastination! Well, she looked really happy and had a bunch of friends and a loving family. Every picture of her she was smiling like life couldnt be better! She didnt seem much different any other girl I know. Oh and when she was talking about boys she seemed a bit full of herself. "9 out of ten would fall head over heels for me." Sheesh vain much.
Even though Anne lived during such a hard time, she still looked like she loved her life, and everyone in it. I can't even imagine living through what she did, and still being happy.
I think that she might be happy, but she seems distracted. I thinks she feeled like she was trapped and was alwayed told what to do and I feel that way, but hey thats life.
It's crazy how much we can all actually relate to Anne; between school, boyfriends, and vacations, there are really few differences. I mean sure, the pictures were old, they wore "funny" clothes, and talked a lot more properly than we do today, but the truth is, Anne was just a regular thirteen year old with a loving family and great friends. Just like us.
I think that It is truly amazing the Similarities between how life is today and how it was then I mean ya our technologys better and we were diferent clothes but realy family, friends, boyfriends and vacations are just like they are today. they also made me think how thankfull I am to live in a better time were we have right and have freedom. But other than freedom and looks she is or was the same as any other 13 year old today Grace
She looks happy in many of her pictures and she was just a normal teenager. I never would've thought that she could've been so much like all of us. But, even while she seems happy in her pictures, we know she was going through many problems in her life, which helps me relate to her story. This story should make us all realize how lucky we are to have the life we have.
She looked normal. They look just like any regular family. The only difference is time. Knowing what they went through really makes me appreciate the life that we have.
She looked very happy and like a normal teeneager despite the situation that she was in. She had a very good attitude even though she knew that she was in danger. If you didn't know them, you would think that they were just a normal family. When you look at any of their faces and facial expressions, you would have never thought that they would be in such a terrible situation. Seeing and hearing about these things makes me appreciate and realize how much we have now that they didn't have.
anne seemed very happy even thoghh she may not have been in the best situation. she also seem very similar to many of the girls that i know. and even some of the problems that anne was going throgh can relate to some girls maybe going throgh todayy.
I agree with everyone here, it seems like everytime I want to post a comment its like 25 of the same comments. But yea, I can relate to her in the sense that we are the same age.
Honestly, we all can relate to Anne and her family. There were some differences in clothing and such, but when it came down to life, their lives and our lives are nearly identical. We all have and had the friends, family, school, and other things that really haven't changed much throughout history. The main difference between us and Anne's family and friends is the pain they had to go through, and the strength they gained going through it.
There is defintely a contrast between now- a- days pictures of ourselves, friends, and family to back then. However,in general there are some similarties; they all are just regular old silly pictures that we take with ones who we like to be with. Plus even though she lived long ago their are still some descriptions in her life we all can relate to including: boys, friends, family. With that being said life (as a teenager) back then is very simialr to life now.
I think the pictures in this potrayed a false image. Anne looked happy in these pictures, and I would think that a person who had gone into hiding for two years would not be very pleased to do so. In her diary she talked about the pressures that many of us are going through as teens.
i saw that she liked meeting other people and was very friendly. I cant really relate to her because ive never had someone trying to kill me and ive never had to go into hiding.
the pictures were of sentimental reason and were very meaningful. It is so rare to find a family who faces terror in the face with such boldness. These helped me to better relate to Anne bcause I had a visual-what life in the Annex was like and what her family looked like.
Even though Annie was going through hard times, She looks very happy and is always smiling in her pictures. She looks and sounds like a regular thirteen year old girl that likes to laugh and mess around. I can better relate to her because she goes through a lot of the same problems that we do now.
She looked and seemed very happy in her pictures. Even though she lived a long time ago, she goes through what we do as a teenager.
ReplyDeleteYou are right will and she also has a lot of experience as an adult. I cant imagine living through the holocoust
ReplyDeleteThe pictures made me feel happy. She seems to have been like a normal teenager before the war took over Holland

ReplyDeleteshe looked a lot similar to us, but older. She always seemed happy. She goes through a lot of problems, that some of us can relate to.
ReplyDeleteThey seemed like us except more mature. She seemed happy even though she was in a bad situation.
ReplyDeleteShe looked very happy and content with her life. She seemed to go through many problems that other teenagers go through too.

ReplyDeleteShe look happy in her pictures even though she went through many difficult things. Some of her problems many of us have similar ones.
ReplyDeleteThey all looked pretty casual. What she went through is unbeleivable, and she was very cool about it.
